RIAS Kammerchor Berlin

Choir

Founded in 1948, the RIAS Kammerchor Berlin is one of Europe’s most important touring choirs, performing up to 50 concerts a year. The choir has developed into one of the world's leading professional choirs since its formation. Contemporary commissioned works and world premieres are a part of the chamber choir's expertise as well as historically informed Renaissance and Baroque interpretations. The multinational vocal ensemble regularly works with the Freiburg Baroque Orchestra, the Chamber Orchestra of Europe, the Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin and René Jacobs. In 2014, the RIAS Kammerchor won the ECHO Klassik in the category »Choral Work Recording of the Year« for Bach's »St Matthew Passion« with the latter two. Together with Jacobs, they will be guests in Ludwigsburg twice in 2022.
