Friends of the Ludwigsburg Festival

The Friends of the Ludwigsburg Festival have been supporting the festival since 1997. The members promote the International Festival Baden-Württemberg and thus the project of bringing together diverse cultural and artistic positions. Through its conceptual and financial commitment, the Friends contribute to securing and realizing the extraordinary and groundbreaking festival program. This commitment made it possible, for example, to purchase the Steinway concert grand piano in the Ordenssaal and to organize the popular concert series »Musik im Freien« (Outdoor Music), formerly »Frei Luft Musik« (Open Air Music), which will continue to be free of charge for all visitors in 2026, in the Favoritepark and around the Monrepos Palace. Another focus of the Friends is to give young people access to art and music.

Convinced of the creative power of the arts, the Friends feel a close connection to the Ludwigsburg Festival and its program. Members enjoy a special proximity to the festival, receive preferential treatment when purchasing tickets, and are offered personal program presentations and exclusive supporting programs such as rehearsal visits or introductions to works. Joint cultural excursions are also organized. As ambassadors and multipliers, the Friends carry their enthusiasm for the arts, people, and encounters into the heart of society.
