Creating an illusion of the Mediterranean within seconds? No problem for the Babylon ORCHESTRA. The urban ensemble doesn’t even need a screen for that. With love songs, ballads and new vocal pieces, it leads from France, Algeria, Greece and Turkey and reveals how the sea has inscribed itself in the history of humankind. Sephardic, Arabic, Turkish and Greek folk songs resound on traditional and modern instruments; the musicians combine the sound of a big band with that of a contemporary orchestra.
