Martina Gedeck and Xavier de Maistre bring touching stories and thoughts to life in a literary-musical evening. With their program »Light and Shadow«, the internationally successful actress and the star harpist take us into the world of words and emotions of famous writers such as Oscar Wilde, Rainer Maria Rilke and Else Lasker-Schüler. Dreamy and predominantly impressionistic compositions reflect the images conjured up by the poetry and epic poetry performed: the softly sparkling embellishments of Debussy's Arabesque embrace Rilke's elegy, Liszt's folkloristic "Rossignol" comforts listeners over the dramatic ending of Oscar Wilde's »Nightingale« and Albéniz's »Granada« peacefully carries the relaxed feeling of Camus' »Light and Shadow« into the world. Listening to these timeless symbioses of music and text makes clear that some problems and questions are destined for eternity.
