Festival week number five!

We’re going on a journey – from Haigerloch to Venice

The fifth festival week has begun! The Mahler Chamber Orchestra concludes its artist residency with »welcome home!«, we accompany Anastasia Kobekina and the Kammerorchester Basel on their journey to Venice, and Asmik Grigorian performs a song recital.  Also: the »Johannespassion« in Haigerloch and the premiere of »Die schöne Müllerin«, a co-production with the Staatsoper Stuttgart!

»Welcome Home! A Concert About Finding the Place Where You Belong«

At the beginning of this festival week, the Mahler Chamber Orchestra ends its artist residency with a question: »What does home sound like?«

Not only the orchestra, but also school classes work on this topic in the run-up to the concert and fascinate us on Monday morning with a variety of answers – accompanied by works by Bartók, Schostakowitch and Mozart.

Short trip to Venice!

Ready for a vacation? We have just the thing for you! Join Anastasia Kobekina on a journey to the city of lagoons. Together with the Kammerorchester Basel, the young star cellist takes us on a journey to her very own Venice with selected cello concertos. The effect is dreamlike, enchanting and inspiring – as mysterious, timeless and surprising as the city itself.

Meeting point: Tuesday, June 25, at 8 p.m. in the Stadtkirche Ludwigsburg!

From the big screen to the big stage

On Wednesday, June 26, we once again invite you to an evening at the movies: Our festival cinema will be showing »Fuoco Sacro«, a movie by Jan Schmidt-Garre, which portrays the sopranos Ermonela Jaho, Barbara Hannigan and Asmik Grigorian.

Get an in-depth insight into Asmik Grigorian’s life on stage and get in the mood for the recital with the great soprano. The very next day, she will sing works by Tschaikowski and Rachmaninow live in the Ordenssaal, accompanied by Lukas Geniušas on the piano.

Get in and sing along!

On Friday, the sing-along shuttle to idyllic Haigerloch departs from Stuttgart and Ludwigsburg – there are still seats available! Of course, all those traveling individually are also cordially invited to join in Bach’s »Johannespassion« in the Schlosskirche. Singing along is encouraged!

Anyone who would like to practise their voice, can find sheet music and a practice app from Carus-Verlag here.

Tickets for the sing-along shuttle can be found here.

A special piece of jewelry: »Die Schöne Müllerin« at the Schlosstheater

We celebrate the premiere of the staged song cycleon »Die schöne Müllerin« on Sunday, June 30 at 7 pm!

For this production, visual artist Norbert Bisky works with the historical scenery of the Schlosstheater. Together with the tenor Mingjie Leipianist Alan Hamilton Lei, and lighting artist Lars Murasch, he brings the historic theater jewel to life and combines the romantic romantic art song with the baroque space and contemporary painting. relationship.
