We start the third week of the festival!

This week at the Schlossfestspiele: Quatuor Ébène with Xavier Tribolet, Rothko String Quartet, Hiphop - anniversary, Zukunftsmusik & Festspiel-Kino

In the third week of the festival, the Schlossfestspiele live up to their name: we are very much looking forward to the first two events with the French string quartet Quatuor Ébène and the Rothko String Quartet at the Residenschloss Ludwigsburg! New to the program is the »Scala Festspiel Kino« series, which also starts this week with the film »Human Requiem«. In »Generation Zukunft Musik«, schoolchildren from Ludwigsburg and the surrounding area will once again put on a colorful event at the Forum am Schlosspark with their own concerts and innovative music formats.

The festival week concludes with the big anniversary »50 Jahre Hip-Hop« in the open air at the Kunstzentrum Karlskaserne.

And, of course, the popular »Frei Luft Musik« will be back again this week, this time Kids of Adelaide will be playing indie, folk and rock sounds.

New in the program: The Festspiel-Kino


The third festival week begins on Wednesday, June 12 at 8 p.m. with the »Scala Festspiel Kino«, which will show Jochen Sandig’s »Human Requiem« in a film by him and Stephan Talneau. It was recorded in 2023 in the ancient the ancient sanctuaries of Eleusis with the Rundfunkchor Berlin, soprano Marlis Petersen, the baritone Benjamin Appl and dancers from Sasha Waltz & Guests. Afterwards there will be an audience discussion with with our artistic director Jochen Sandig.

Clear the stage for the »Generation Zukunft Musik«


On Thursday, June 13, schoolchildren from Ludwigsburg and the surrounding area will once again perform their own concerts and innovative music formats at the Forum am Schlosspark, such as Terry Riley’s »In C« in a large ensemble, but chamber music and musicals are also on the program. musicals are also on the program. Concerts in the Residenzschloss Ludwigsburg


The time has come: In the beautiful Ordenssaal of the Residenzschloss Ludwigsburg we welcome, also on Thursday, the French string quartet Quatuor Ébène! Their classical program »Waves« incorporates elements of jazz as well as electronic sounds by the musician Xavier Tribolet, who will be playing live – with works by including works by Fauré, Monk, Messiaen and Tribolet himself.


Two days later in the Ordenssaal, the »Rothko String Quartet« expands its concert evening with an impressive facet: the actress Amelie Schmidt recites from the correspondence exchange of letters between Ingeborg Bachmann and Max Frisch, the quartet responds with musical expressions of love and correspondence.

Of course, it should not be missing this week either: Our popular »Frei Luft Musik«! This time with Kids of Adelaide, who will brighten up the start of the weekend with indie, folk and rock sounds – as always on Fridays at 6 pm on the market square!

Hip-Hop Open-Air in the Karlskaserne


This festival week concludes with the big anniversary »50 Jahre Hip-Hop« with DJ Friction, DJ 5ter Ton, DJ Emilio, Femdelic, DeeKay, Dogan and LUCA in the line-up on Sunday, June 16 from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. in a (hopefully) summery, exuberant atmosphere in the open air in the inner courtyard of the Kunstzentrum Karlskaserne.
