The second festival week at a glance

Sasha Waltz & Guests, Fazıl Say, Oslo Philharmonic with Klaus Mäkelä and Daniel Lozakovich and an excursion with the Wildstrings

After a successful opening concert, the second week of the festival offers some of the major Festival highlights in quick succession!

Sasha Waltz & Guests present »Beethoven 7«, a choreography choreography by the current winner of the German Dance Award on Beethoven’s symphony – preceded by a choreography for the commissioned work «Freiheit/Extasis« by Diego Noguera: electronic music played live that music that refers to Beethoven and his theme of freedom.

We are also delighted to be hosting Fazıl Say as part of his artist residency at the Ludwigsburg Schlossfestspiele three times in concert this week! On Sunday, you can then experience Scandinavian classical music stars in Ludwigsburg or the Wildstrings in Bad Imnau.

It’s getting loud: Sasha Waltz & Guests present »Beethoven 7«, a choreography by the current winner of the German Dance Award on Beethoven’s symphony – preceded by a choreography for the commissioned work work »Freiheit/Extasis« by Diego Noguera: live electronic music music that refers to Beethoven and his theme of freedom.

We are also delighted to be hosting Fazıl Say as part of his artist residency at the Ludwigsburger Schlossfestspiele three times in concert this week! On Friday, June 7 the turkish pianist and composer will perform his song cycle on the poetry of of Turkish poets with artist friends at »Fazıl Say Friends« for the European premiere – »Dünya Anne« will take place at 8 pm at the Kunstzentrum Karlskaserne takes place. A subsequent artist talk will be followed by »Fazıl Say Latenight«. A combined ticket is available for the double evening with a with a 20 percent discount is available.

On the following day, June 8 Fazıl Say will play his solo concert at the Forum am Schlosspark solo concert with piano sonatas by Mozart, Beethoven and Scarlatti as well as his own works.

Two young shooting stars are coming to the Forum am Schlosspark on Sunday, June 9.: the conductor Klaus Mäkelä is currently one of the most sought-after conductors worldwide. With his orchestra, the Oslo Philharmonic, he will be performing will be performing in a dual role on this evening: The outstanding conductor meets another high-flyer, the Swedish violinist Daniel Lozakovich. Together the two soloists will perform the Brahms Double Concerto in A minor for violin and and violoncello and provide a musical treat.

Ludwigsburg Festival on Tour: Excursion to Bad Imnau

At the same time the Ludwigsburger Schlossfestspiele are making one of its guest performance excursions to the beautiful, enchanted Bad Imnau: in the Fürstensaal on Sunday, June 9, the Wildstrings will perform their »Songs of Travel« and, as multi-instrumentalists with acoustic and electronic, finds unique fusions of pop, swing, classical and traditional music from other cultures.
