Georgian Chamber Orchestra Ingolstadt

Ensemble

Founded in 1964 in Georgia, the Georgian Chamber Orchestra Ingolstadt was artistically shaped by its long-time director, violinist Liana Issakadze, and conductors such as Lord Yehudi Menuhin and Kurt Masur. After 26 years in Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia, the ensemble moved to Ingolstadt, where it has found a second home for 30 years. Even in exile, the East European orchestra has retained its character: even today, almost only musicians from Georgia and Eastern Europe play in the Ingolstadt ensemble, which is firmly rooted in the national and international cultural landscape.
