Rhythm rocks, whether produced by drums or repurposed everyday objects, or made more melodically on marimbas and vibraphones: the rich spectrum of percussion gets everyone going and Elbtonal Percussion know just how to exploit this. For the last twenty-five years the Hamburger Ensemble with its crossover expertise has toured all across the world. The four musicians combine pop, jazz, world music and classical music with a touch of live electronics, creating a spectacle that has the audience sitting on the edge of their seats. On their first visit to the Ludwigsburg Festival Elbtonal Percussion are bringing their concept album »HAMBURG«, giving insights into their musical exploration of the Hanseatic city in the north. Alongside arrangements, for example of Keiko Abes’s well-known marimba concerto »The Wave«, they will be performing a thrilling mix of genres and sounds.
