For more than 15 years, Saliou Gueye – expert on migration and development policy – has worked for a peaceful coexistence of cultures in Ludwigsburg. His motto: »In the place where I live, where I have my home, I want to have a say in things.« Gueye is chair of the Africa helps Africa initiative, and started projects including the One World Forum. He founded the Ludwigsburg Africa Days, and has been head of the co-ordination office for municipal development co-operation since 2016. In 2014 he was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit for his tireless social and political commitment far beyond the borders of Baden-Württemberg.
