Start of the first Festival week

Opening weekend with the »Fest Spiel Ouvertüre« and the »Tag im Palais«

Celebrate the first festival week of the new season with us with the traditional opening concert and take a look behind the scenes of the Schlossfestspiele at our open day at Palais Grävenitz!

On the podium of the Festspielorchester, conductor Ryan McAdams and viola soloist Lawrence Power perform on Saturday, June 1 at 7 pm in the Forum am Schlossparka brilliant opening of the Ludwigsburger Schlossfestspiele 2024!

The first part of the program will feature Aaron Copland’s »Fanfare for the Common Man« and Cassandra Miller’s concerto for viola »I cannot love without trembling«, which will be premiered in Germany in the presence of the composer. After Joan Towers’ »Fanfare for the Uncommon Woman No. 1«, Berlioz ’ »Symphonie fantastique« will be performed.

Following the »Fest Spiel Ouvertüre«, we  would like to invite the audience to join us for a get-together with music and a free glass of sparkling wine to toast to a successful start to the new season!

Tickets and further information can be found here.

On Sunday, June 2, the Schlossfestspiele team welcomes you once again to Palais Grävenitz between 2 and 6 pm!

We invite you to the »Tag im Palais« to get to know the Schlossfestspiele and the entire team. We are looking forward to a varied program of historical tours, insights into upcoming events, competitions as well as live music, coffee and cake.

A special highlight will be the mini dance workshops on Sasha Waltz’s community dance project »In C« with two of her dancers. These will take place in the cellar of Palais Grävenitz. Neither registration nor previous dance experience is necessary – just join in!

Tickets for all events in the 2024 season (subject to availability) are also available at a 10 percent discount from the ticket office on this day. Admission is free.

Before we officially open the 2024 Festival, we will of course start the weekend as usual on Friday at 6 pm with »Frei Luft Musik« and singer-songwriter Anna Stucky!
