Conductor and pianist Alan Hamilton studied at the University of Michigan and the Juilliard School in New York, where he received the Sam Sanders Award. In addition to his first professional positions as a répétiteur at the Merola Program of the San Francisco Opera and the Tanglewood Music Festival, he has prepared singers for numerous international opera houses and festivals. From 2012 to 2018, Hamilton was a solo repetiteur and musical coach at the Stuttgart State Opera and has been its director of studies since the 2018/19 season. In addition, he holds a teaching position at the Musikhochschule Stuttgart.
