Filippo Mineccia

Countertenor

Born and raised in Florence, Filippo Mineccia studied voice and violoncello at the local conservatory. In the meantime, the countertenor has become a celebrated specialist in the castrato repertoire. His career has been shaped by the Accademia Bizantina, the Collegium 1704, the Cappella Mediterranea, and conductors such as Ottavio Dantone, Jordi Savall, and Thomas Hengelbrock. On the opera stage, he has appeared in numerous title roles, especially in Handel operas. These opera and concert engagements have taken Mineccia to Austria, France, South Korea, and Tokyo, among other places. Highlights of the 2022/23 season include appearances at La Scala in Milan, the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées in Paris, and the Theater an der Wien.
