Spark

Ensemble

The chamber music ensemble Spark was founded in 2007 and has made a name for itself in the creative classical music scene for its unconventional reinterpretations of classical music. Initially established as a flute duo, the two founders, Andrea Ritter and Daniel Koschitzki, and their almost forty different flutes are now accompanied by violinist Stefan Balazsovics, Victor Plummettaz on the cello, and Christian Fritz on the piano. The ensemble constantly transcends previous boundaries and unites different eras and genres in its arrangements to make classical music accessible to a broader and significantly younger audience. Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Antonio Vivaldi can be found in the programs, as well as Abba, Beyoncé, and Rammstein. In 2011 Spark was awarded for one of its numerous CD releases in the category »Classical Music without Borders«. The list of prestigious venues where Spark has performed as a group or in collaboration with renowned artists is also almost limitless.
