«Savage«

PLEASE NOTE: THE AUDIO IS ONLY AVAILABLE IN GERMAN.

Are we all savages? Do we need a radically new relationship with nature, and what might that look like? We talked live in Cologne with the philosopher and biologist Andreas Weber and the composer Beat Furrer. About the question whether composing is something like composting – and about love and liveliness.

We conducted the conversation live as part of ACHT BRÜCKEN, a festival at the Kölner Philharmonie.

«Des Pudels Kern« is a new series of conversations around classical music, pop, philosophy, art and science. We suck the fat off, listen back and into the future. What does Mozart’s Figaro tell us about the abuse of power, what connects martial arts and bowing and what do we learn from romanticism for life in the climate catastrophe? The Pudel offers listeners direct access to music and what it has to say. music and what it has to say: about the beauty of the world and the crises of our time.

A production by Elisa Erkelenz and David-Maria Gramse in cooperation with Kölner Philharmonie, Konzerthaus Dortmund, Heidelberger Frühling, Mozartfest Würzburg, Ludwigsburger Schlossfestspiele, Bochumer Symphonie Schlossfestspiele, Bochumer Symphoniker at the Anneliese Brost Musikforum Ruhr and WDR 3.
