Joshua Ellicott

Tenor

Joshua Ellicott's versatile musicianship is evident in the wide range of his repertoire, which extends from lied to opera and concerto. In the field of early music, he has worked with conductors such as Nikolaus Harnoncourt, Sir Roger Norrington and Harry Bicket, developing a particular affinity for the works of Johann Sebastian Bach, George Frideric Handel and Claudio Monteverdi. His penchant for new repertoire has led to collaborations with Sir Mark Elder, Daniel Harding and Esa Pekka Salonen among others. This season he returns to the Lammermuir Festival to sing with the BBC SSO. Ellicott also performs Handel's »Ode to St. Cecilia's Day« with the Barokkanerne – Norwegian Baroque Ensemble, Bach's Christmas Oratorio with Casa da Musica and Antonio Caldara's »Maddalena ai piedi di Cristo« with the Freiburg Baroque Orchestra.
