Sebastian Kohlhepp

Tenor

Sebastian Kohlhepp received his first musical training with the Limburg Cathedral Boys' Choir. His studies with Hedwig Fassbender in Frankfurt am Main were followed by permanent engagements at the Staatstheater Karlsruhe, the Vienna State Opera and the Stuttgart Opera. He now performs regularly with renowned ensembles such as the MDR Symphony Orchestra, the Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin, the RIAS Kammerchor and the Collegium Vocale Gent. Kohlhepp is also in great demand as an opera singer. With his debut as David in »Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg«, the tenor was able to thrill audiences under the baton of Christian Thielemann at the 2019 Salzburg Easter Festival and the following year also at the Dresden Semperoper. Together with Teodor Currentzis and the SWR Symphony Orchestra, he sang Hans Zender's »Winterreise« in a highly acclaimed audiovisual production in 2021.
