PUDELS

KERN

#6

»Farewell to the Earth«

PLEASE NOTE: THE AUDIO IS ONLY AVAILABLE IN GERMAN.

What has remained of Romanticism besides the adjective »romantic,« forest bathing and wellness by the fireplace?

With singer Anna Prohaska and literary scholar Stefan Willer, we take a few trips back and forth in time.

We talk about the black scene, romance and climate change, and cheap champagne on skyscrapers.

Maybe that’s what we can learn from romance: to celebrate life in the face of the abyss.

«Des Pudels Kern« is a new series of conversations around classical music, pop, philosophy, art and science. We suck the fat off, listen back and into the future. What does Mozart’s Figaro tell us about abuse of power, what links martial arts and archery, and what do we learn from romance for living in climate disaster? The Poodle offers listeners immediate access to music and what it has to say: about the beauty of the world and the crises of our time.

A production by Elisa Erkelenz and David-Maria Gramse in cooperation with Kölner Philharmonie, Konzerthaus Dortmund, Heidelberger Frühling, Mozartfest Würzburg, Ludwigsburger Schlossfestspiele, Bochumer Symphoniker im Anneliese Brost Musikforum Ruhr and WDR 3.
