Basel Chamber Orchestra
The Basel Chamber Orchestra is one of the leading chamber orchestras in international musical life and regularly performs at the most important festivals and concert halls. Since then, the ensemble has developed a broad repertoire and an excellent reputation. In collaboration with Sol Gabetta, Nuria Rial and Christoph Prégardien, among others, the chamber orchestra presents baroque and classical as well as contemporary works in around 80 performances a year and is an award-winning ensemble in the field of historically informed performance practice. Guest conductor Giovanni Antonini launched the »Haydn 2032« project in 2014, in which all 107 of Haydn's symphonies are to be recorded and performed by 2032. From 2022, the Basel Chamber Orchestra is also planning a similar project with all of Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy's symphonies.
