Goal 11: Make cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable

When he moved to Ludwigsburg in 2017, Martin Wendte started the local initiative »Lebenswerte Südstadt« [southern district worth living in]. A priest in the Friedenskirche, with his initiative he also campaigns for the development of a neighbourhood that is pleasant to live in – including affordable housing and cycle paths guaranteeing safe and sustainable travel. The theologian, who teaches at the Protestant University in Ludwigsburg and the Eberhards University in Tübingen, dreams of a social and ecological lifestyle that will some day require no special effort, but will simply become everyday life.
