Leonardo García Alarcón

Conductor

[This text has been translated electronically.] Leonardo García Alarcón studied piano in Argentina and harpsichord in Geneva and soon specialized in the practice of early music. Today he is best known as a conductor of baroque music. With his ensemble Cappella Mediterranea and the Millennium Orchestra, which he also founded to accompany his baroque choir, the Namur Chamber Choir, he brings forgotten and unknown works back to life. In November 2018, he conducted Monteverdi's »L'Orfeo« in Sasha Waltz's production at the Staatsoper Berlin.
