What would have been if Alexander the Great had been an Alexandra? Or Louis XIV a Louise? Politics was and still is largely a male affair.
But what would the world have looked like if women had as much power and influence as men? An ensemble of the PODIUM Festival Esslingen invites to this thought-experiment in collaboration with director Lisa Pottstock. With musical works ranging from baroque sounds to energetic rhythms with electric guitar and percussion, the ensemble makes music through the female history of different eras. The fictional story of a woman serves as a travel companion, changing the perspective in the baroque palace theatre and showing us that the story of power and property can also be told under other auspices.
In cooperation with PODIUM Esslingen
