In his work as a director, Charles Di Meglio merges two traditions: that of Oriental theatre and that of Baroque theatre. His passion for the former was sparked during his late childhood in Southeast Asia, where he was introduced to various forms of Oriental theatre. He encountered Baroque theatre after completing his acting training at the Paris Conservatoire and, alongside Eugène Green, founded the Compagnie Oghma, where he serves as an actor and director in most productions and designs the costumes. Di Meglio concentrates his aesthetic and formal research on the repertoire from the 15th to 17th centuries. He has also directed operas such as »La Susanna« by Stradella, »Actéon« by Charpentier, Purcell’s »Dido and Aeneas«, and »Apollon et Daphné« by Dassoucy, as well as a Nuit-blanche-homage to Molière and the gala of the Friends of the Royal Opera of Versailles.
