Through the interplay of bandoneon, piano, violin, guitar and double bass, the Astor Piazzolla Quintet has been pursuing one goal for over 20 years: To keep the music of the deceased tango revolutionary alive. The quintet has already succeeded on numerous stages worldwide, such as at the Montreux Jazz Festival or on its tour in 2021/22, which was organised to mark the 100th anniversary of Astor Piazzolla’s birth. The reinterpretation of Piazzolla’s tango captivates audiences and has won over critics with its rousing rhythms and melodic diversity. The quintet won the Latin Grammy several times, including for best tango album in 2019. In 2025, the Astor Piazzolla Quintet will go on a significant tour with their new album »Oblivion«, performing in cities such as Munich, Porto, Zurich, Sofia, Bucharest and London. The audience can look forward to previously unreleased pieces.
