JOHANNES BRAHMS Doppelkonzert a-Moll für Violine und Violoncello, op. 102

JOHANNES BRAHMS Sinfonie Nr. 1 c-Moll, op. 68

Daniel Lozakovich Violin

Oslo Philharmonic

Klaus Mäkelä Violoncello, Musical Director

With sophisticated concert programs and extremely popular chief conductors such as Herbert Blomstedt and Vasily Petrenko, the Oslo Philharmonic has shaped the lively cultural scene of the Norwegian capital for over 100 years and many European music centers. The symphony orchestra's current chief conductor is also highly regarded and much sought after. Klaus Mäkelä has not only made great strides in establishing himself in the conducting world but there is no doubt that he is already one of the greats of classical music: at the age of just 24, the Finn, who also plays the cello, was appointed chief conductor of the Oslo Philharmonic for two terms.

In Ludwigsburg, the outstanding conductor and the orchestra will meet another high-flyer. Swedish violinist Daniel Lozakovich made his international breakthrough at 14, winning the international Vladimir Spivakov Competition. Shortly afterwards, he signed an exclusive contract with Deutsche Grammophon in 2016, making him the youngest member of the DG family. Mäkelä and Lozakovich have already thrilled their audiences as a duet in Oslo and Verbier. At the Schlossfestspiele, this constellation will take the audience into the fascinating world of a musical trailblazer and present the Double Concerto and the First Symphony by Johannes Brahms.
