[This text has been translated electronically.] The composition »World to come« was written in 2001 in the shadow of the collapsing towers of the World Trade Center in New York. Fifteen years later, cellist Maya Beiser and composer David Lang linked their piece to a prequel that explores the question: »What was the most important day in your life?« Titled »The Day«, Beiser and Lang collaborated with dance legend Wendy Whelan and iconic choreographer Lucinda Childs to create a piece that explores life's defining moments - from reflection on death to the afterlife - in a synthesis of music and dance.
