An evening of baroque enchantment and classical brilliance: Hilary Hahn, the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen, and Omer Meir Wellber invite you to experience this at their joint concert in Ludwigsburg. The exceptional violinist from the USA will not only perform as a soloist in Max Bruch’s famous First Violin Concerto but will also share this role in Aziza Sadikova’s piece with the evening’s conductor, Omer Meir Wellber, who will play the accordion in the double concerto »Labyrinthe du Temps«. »With the help of contemporary soundscapes«, the 2023 composition »looks into a world of baroque magic and elegance«, as Uzbek-German composer Sadikova describes it. The two soloists and the orchestra evoke »the sound of these voices, the rustling of dresses and velvet suits, the sound of emotions«. Before this magic unfolds, Mozart’s overture to the opera »Don Giovanni« opens the concert with its characteristic mix of wit, drama, and euphoria. The Viennese prodigy is said to have completed the overture just hours before the premiere. Bruch’s Violin Concerto, which follows, is one of the most beloved works in the Romantic violin concerto repertoire. Its sweeping melodies, the passionate drama of the first movement, the heartfelt cantabile quality of the Adagio, and the rousing finale have made the work a favorite with audiences since its premiere. For a violinist of Hilary Hahn’s caliber, the concerto offers the ideal setting to showcase her unwavering precision, breathtaking expressiveness, and the full range of her iridescent timbres. Who could possibly turn down such a prestigious invitation?
