A musical adventure for children:
The story of the donkeys Emil and Emily
Compositions by Georg Friedrich Händel and Johann Sebastian Bach
Puppenphilharmonie Berlin
»Well, what’s this?« Emil, the house donkey, is very surprised when he finds an unknown object in his haystack one day. One thing is clear: ‘It doesn’t taste as good as carrots!’ To unravel the mystery of his strange find, he sets off on an adventure to the city. There, he meets Emily, an elegant Baroque donkey with a keen sense of music. Of course, she immediately knows what Emil has found: a note! And because a single note does not make music, Emily shows her new friend what sounds, instruments, and musicians can do together. Naturally, the two likeable plush characters are not alone on their musical journey of discovery: Emil and Emily are brought to life by the Puppenphilharmonie. With its blend of music, theatre, and puppetry, the ensemble has long made a name for itself in bringing the world of classical music closer to both children and curious ‘old classical music aficionados’ in a playful way.
The performance is aimed at children aged 3 to 8.
