Like siblings Gautier and Renaud Capuçon or Sol and Andrés Gabetta, brothers Elad and Itai Navon have recently established their own path in the music world. Elad Navon secured all three main prizes and five special awards in the clarinet category at the 2025 ARD International Music Competition. The elder brother, Itai Navon, completed his piano studies with Sir András Schiff at the Kronberg Academy and has since made frequent guest appearances with renowned conductors, orchestras, and ensembles. Shared moments are rare, and it is even more uncommon for the two to perform together on stage, as they will at Seeschloss Monrepos. They plan to perform in concert together, even though the clarinet naturally takes centre stage as the prima inter pares. As composer Carl Maria von Weber also envisioned – concerning the instrument in his Grand Duo in E-flat major – the clarinet is regarded as first among equals. Typical of Weber – and characteristic of the evening’s programme – the duo offers operatic cantilenas and dark emotional depths, but above all, mischievous humour and lively allegro vigour.
