Have courage to hope! In the dream pop song »Hope is a dangerous thing for a woman like me to have«, Lana Del Rey hesitates to trust hope before finally embracing it (»but I have it«). Inspired by this, Asya Fateyeva reflects on the power of hope in her concert programme of the same name, which she has created alongside baroque harpist Luise Enzian and lutenist Thor-Harald Johnsen. The classical saxophonist has built a reputation over the past decade through remarkable ideas and projects; a recording of ABBA songs played in a baroque style is among her latest innovations. Asya Fateyeva concentrates on unexpected and unheard-of combinations, as evidenced by her concert at the Ludwigsburg Festival: the trio lineup alone promises fresh and exciting sounds. Additionally, apart from the title track, all the selected works are from a period when the invention of the saxophone was still hundreds of years away. Using her instrument, the musician pursues »a longing for beauty«, as she describes it, inviting the audience to explore new timbres and timeless syntheses – with the hope that »beauty can save the world«.
