Sharon Kam is one of the leading clarinettists of our time and delights audiences with her extraordinary musicality and expressiveness. Her orchestral debut was at the age of 16 with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra. Sharon Kam gained international attention shortly thereafter by winning the ARD International Music Competition. Since then, she has performed worldwide with renowned orchestras such as the Leipzig Gewandhausorchester, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, and the philharmonic orchestras in Berlin, Tokyo, and Prague. As a passionate chamber musician, Kam collaborates with leading artists and is a guest at international festivals. Numerous world premieres, including works by Krzysztof Penderecki, Herbert Willi and Peter Ruzicka, as well as her close collaboration with renowned current composers, show Kam’s dedication to contemporary music. Her recordings have been awarded prizes such as the Diapason d’Or, the ECHO KLASSIK, and the OPUS KLASSIK. Kam is a professor of clarinet at the Hanover University of Music, Drama and Media.
