Max Glaenzel trained as an industrial designer at Escola Massana and has been working as a stage designer since 1997. He is originally from Barcelona and has collaborated with directors and choreographers such as Marcos Morau, Àlex Rigola, Carlota Subirós, Sergi Belbel, Xavier Albertí, and others. His works have premiered at production venues, such as the Teatre Nacional de Catalunya, the Teatre Lliure, the Sala Beckett, the Centro Dramático Nacional, the Schaubühne in Berlin, and the Schauspielhaus Düsseldorf. In recent years, Glaenzel has also worked with the Teatro Real, Göteborgs Operans Danskompani, the Royal Danish Theatre, the Teatro Stabile del Véneto, the Teatros del Canal, the Mercat de les Flors, the Zurich Opera House, the Opéra de Lyon, the Deutsche Oper am Rhein, and others.
