The Ludwigsburg cellist Jonas Palm studied with renowned musicians such as Jean-Guihen Queyras, Clemens Hagen, and Nicolas Altstaedt and drew significant inspiration from Steven Isserlis, Yo-Yo Ma, and Tabea Zimmermann, among others. A multiple competition prize-winner – including the German Music Competition, the Prémio Internacional Suggia, and the Concorso Enrico Mainardi – he is now a sought-after soloist and, as such, has performed with the Orchestre Royal de Chambre de Wallonie, the Stuttgart and Neubrandenburg Philharmonic Orchestras, the Württemberg Chamber Orchestra Heilbronn, and the Klassische Philharmonie Bonn, among others. Jonas Palm has performed in concert halls including the Konzerthaus Berlin, the Beethovenhalle Bonn, the Liederhalle Stuttgart, and the Bremer Glocke. He has been a guest at the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival, the Lockenhaus Festival, and the Heidelberg Spring Festival. His chamber music partners include Marc-André Hamelin, Igor Levit, Nicolas Altstaedt, and Stephan Picard. Palm’s debut CD featuring works by Beethoven, Mendelssohn, Janáček, and Dutilleux was released in 2015. He now teaches at the music academies in Stuttgart and Leipzig and serves as the principal cellist of the Württemberg Chamber Orchestra Heilbronn.
