Anastasia Kobekina represents outstanding musicality, breathtaking technique, and a charismatic personality. Born in Russia, she began cello lessons at the age of four. The cellist started studying in Germany before continuing her musical education in Paris. She also completed her master’s program in baroque cello in Frankfurt. Kobekina has won numerous international competitions, including the prestigious OPUS KLASSIK Award in 2024. She is also the proud recipient of the 2024 Leonard Bernstein Award. Her performances take her to leading venues and festivals worldwide, including Wigmore Hall, the Concertgebouw Amsterdam, and the Berlin Philharmonic. As a soloist, she works with prestigious orchestras and renowned conductors, including Semyon Bychkov, Paavo Järvi, and Vasily Petrenko. With her playing on modern and historical instruments and her multi-layered interpretations, Kobekina has made a name for herself as one of the exciting cellists of the younger generation.
