While still a student, Romanian soprano Ana Maria Labin won first prize at the Swiss Ernst Haefliger Competition and quickly established herself as a Mozart specialist. She has been celebrated at venues including the Berlin State Opera, the Bavarian State Opera, the Opéra de Montpellier, the Aix-en-Provence Festival, Drottningholm and Versailles. She has performed roles in various operas by Haydn, Berlioz and Gluck, among others. From the Baroque repertoire, Ana Maria Labin has interpreted roles such as Armida in Handel’s »Rinaldo« and Belinda in Purcell’s »Dido and Aeneas«. Her concert engagements have taken her to the Konzerthaus in Vienna, the Philharmonie Luxembourg and the Haydn Festival in Eisenstadt. She has also toured Italy and Turkey and performed in St. Gallen, Boston, Rome, Bahrain and Dresden. Her diverse concert work includes premieres of contemporary works by Dominique Lemaître and Luciano Berio. Future engagements include the role of Donna Anna in Ivan Alexandre’s production of »Don Giovanni« in Versailles and the role of Fiordiligi in »Così fan tutte« at Drottningholm and the Enescu Festival in Bucharest with Les Musiciens du Louvre and Marc Minkowski.
