The Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen is one of the world’s top orchestras. Paavo Järvi has been its artistic director since 2004. A highlight of their collaboration was the internationally praised Beethoven Project, which set new worldwide standards. This was followed by cycles focused on Schumann and Brahms. Starting in fall 2021, the focus shifted to Joseph Haydn’s London symphonies, for which the orchestra was named Orchestra of the Year in 2023 with the Gramophone Award and again in 2024 with the OPUS KLASSIK. Since 2024, the orchestra and conductor have been working on the symphonies of Viennese composer Franz Schubert. The first CD featuring Symphonies No. 4 and No. 7 was released in December 2025. The Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie is one of the resident orchestras at the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg and was the first Orchestra in Residence at the Rheingau Music Festival in 2019, where it received the Rheingau Music Prize for its innovative projects. Along with Järvi, Finnish conductor Tarmo Peltokoski has served as Principal Guest Conductor since early 2022. The orchestra maintains close musical partnerships with soloists such as Lang Lang, Janine Jansen, Igor Levit, Christian Tetzlaff, and Hilary Hahn.
