The four musicians of the Arcis Saxophone Quartet are experimental, artistic, and always curious in their musical work. Sophisticated dramaturgy, well-thought-out sound and lighting concepts, and engaging presentations are just as much a part of a successful concert experience for these multi-artists as their energetic interpretations, finely crafted arrangements, and commissioned compositions specifically tailored to the four musicians. The Arcis Saxophone Quartet is named after Arcisstraße on Munich’s Königsplatz, a city with which the quartet has close ties and which it seems to have long since outgrown, as it is now one of the world’s most active classical ensembles. The ensemble received its musical training from the Artemis Quartet at the Berlin University of the Arts, the European Chamber Music Academy, and the Munich University of Music and Performing Arts. For the Arcis Saxophone Quartet, music is a never-ending playing field, and they explore it with a diversity unmatched by any other group. Only one thing always remains the same: their unmistakable sound.
