Pietari Inkinen has been at the helm of the Deutsche Radio Philharmonie (DRP) since 2017, with whom he has focussed on the late Romantic repertoire, in particular Jean Sibelius and Richard Wagner, working with renowned artists such as Evgenij Kissin, Elisabeth Leonskaja, and Andreas Schager. Inkinen previously conducted renowned orchestras such as the Cleveland Orchestra, the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, the Gewandhausorchester Leipzig, and the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France and was also Chief Conductor of the Ludwigsburg Festival Orchestra from 2014 to 2019. As orchestra director of the Deutsche Radio Philharmonie, Inkinen is also involved in the »Klassik Lieben Lernen« education programme. In the summer of 2025, he will relinquish his position as Music Director of the DRP to devote more time to his international commitments. Still, he will remain with the orchestra as a guest conductor.
