Pablo Ferrández is a prizewinner at the XV International Tchaikovsky Competition in the cello category. As such, he has become one of the most in-demand cellists of his generation and is considered a »cello genius«. His debut album Reflections (2021), released on SONY Classical, won the Opus Klassik Award; his second, released in 2022, paired him with Anne-Sophie Mutter, the Czech Philharmonic under Manfred Honeck, and pianist Lambert Orkis. His most recent release, »Moonlight Variations«, topped the streaming charts on release and drew rave reviews on both sides of the Atlantic. Ferrández performs with leading orchestras such as the Boston Symphony Orchestra, the Munich Philharmonic, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, the Orchestre National de France, and the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra, and is a regular guest at internationally renowned festivals, including those in Verbier, Sion, Salzburg, the Rheingau, and Aix-en-Provence. Pablo Ferrández plays the Stradivarius »Archinto« of 1689, on a generous loan from a member of the Stretton Society.
