The Orchestre philharmonique de Strasbourg – designated a »national orchestra« in 1994 – is one of France’s leading musical ensembles. With 110 musicians upholding its dual French and Germanic tradition, under the musical direction of Aziz Shokhakimov, it carries out an ambitious symphonic project, performing around 100 concerts annually for over 120,000 audience members. Committed to corporate social responsibility, the orchestra puts audience diversification at the heart of its mission, notably through regional concerts, new performance formats, and a wide range of educational and cultural initiatives. It also maintains an active audiovisual policy alongside media partners, ensuring strong visibility both nationally and internationally. Through its presence and engagement in its home city, as well as its reach across France and abroad, the Orchestre philharmonique de Strasbourg stands as a major force in the cultural policy of Strasbourg and its region.
