The Royal Opera of the Palace of Versailles hosts more than 100 performances each year and collaborates with leading international artists. The Orchestre de l’Opéra Royal du Château de Versailles was established in 2019 for John Corigliano’s »Les Fantômes de Versailles«. It regularly works with renowned conductors such as Gaétan Jarry, Stefan Plewniak, Victor Jacob, and Andrés Gabetta, and boasts a broad repertoire spanning from Baroque to Romantic music. Reflecting the history of the Palace of Versailles, its core repertoire includes works from the 17th and 18th centuries, such as Vivaldi’s »Four Seasons«, Handel’s »Messiah«, Purcell’s »Dido and Aeneas«, and Mozart’s »Don Giovanni«. In the 2025/26 season, the Royal Opera Orchestra will be featured prominently at its home venue with over 25 productions and 50 performances, alongside touring activities in France and internationally. In addition to Baroque and Classical music, the orchestra will continue exploring Romantic and 19th-century compositions. It will also collaborate with the Malandain Ballet Biarritz and musicians such as Théo Imart, Alex Rosen, Juliette Mey, and Franco Fagioli.
