Asya Fateyeva is one of the outstanding figures in classical saxophone, and with her vision and versatility, she places the instrument at the centre of the music scene. In 2014, Asya Fateyeva became the first woman to reach the final of the prestigious International Adolphe Sax Competition in Belgium, where she secured third place. Since then, she has been regarded as a pioneer who firmly established the saxophone in the classical music world and merges a wide range of styles and eras in innovative programmes. She has performed with renowned orchestras, including the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin, the Wiener Symphoniker, and the SWR Symphony Orchestra, and has conducted under the baton of distinguished conductors such as Robin Ticciati, Bar Avni, Nil Venditti, and Vladimir Spivakov. Beyond her role as a soloist, Asya Fateyeva is passionate about chamber music. Her creative versatility and openness make her a multicultural artist who blends a diverse array of influences into her music.
