Yulianna Avdeeva Klavier
In 2010, Yulianna Avdeeva became the first woman since Martha Argerich to win the International Chopin Competition in Warsaw. Now, over 15 years later, she has continued to captivate audiences worldwide. With Bach’s exquisite precision, Beethoven’s fiery temperament, and Ravel’s impressionistic dance qualities, the Russian pianist will also perform for audiences in Ludwigsburg. Avdeeva will open her July recital with Bach’s Chromatic Fugue and Fantasy, about which Johann Nikolaus Forkel once wrote: »This fantasy is unique and has never been equalled.« Beethoven’s Fantasy also stands alone, as it was his only contribution to this genre. In the realm of piano sonatas, however, his influence was decisive – the spirited »Appassionata« remains one of the most popular examples of the Viennese classical style. And finally, a touch of Vienna is felt in the works of Maurice Ravel: his »Valses nobles et sentimentales« and »La Valse« evoke (Viennese) waltzes and serve as a homage to Johann Strauss.
