The Gaechinger Cantorey is the ensemble of the International Bachakademie Stuttgart and combines a choir and a baroque orchestra under the baton of Hans-Christoph Rademann to form an early music ensemble that characterizes the »Stuttgart Bach style«. Two replicas of Silbermann–instruments – a chest organ and a harpsichord – give the ensemble its distinctive sound. Since its re-establishment in 2016, the Gaechinger Cantorey has performed at major venues such as the Musikfest Stuttgart, the Bachfest Leipzig and the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg. The ensemble has also gained international recognition with concerts in Paris, the USA, Canada, and South America. The Gaechinger Cantorey has recorded significant works by Bach, Händel, and Haydn, while also dedicating its 2023/24 season to Bach’s complete cantatas from his first year as Thomaskantor in Leipzig. Hänssler Classic published the concert recordings under the title »VISION.BACH«. Volume I was awarded the OPUS KLASSIK prize. The Gaechinger Cantorey invites children and young people to discover music through their own experience with its project »BachBewegt!«.
