Hayato Sumino Piano
Hayato Sumino is not just a pianist; he is a true phenomenon. The Japanese musician, also known as »Cateen« to his approximately two million followers on social media, plays the piano at a world-class level, holds a degree in engineering from Tokyo, and is involved in composing, arranging, improvising, and blending elements of classical music, jazz, and film music in his own work. He began playing the piano at the age of three but did not attend music college. In 2018, he won the grand prize at the 42nd PTNA Piano Competition in Japan, which enabled him to take his first steps as a professional artist and full-time musician. His background in mathematics and engineering influences his music, composition, and improvisation. Uniquely, he bridges the gap between social media and impressive performances with leading orchestras on the world’s great stages. At his debut at the Ludwigsburg Festival, he showcases his artistry, creativity, and vision in »Chopin Orbit« with works by Chopin, his own compositions, and interpretations.
