Alexander Gilman is one of the world’s most renowned violinists and teachers. He performs with famous conductors such as Neeme Järvi and Bernard Haitink and collaborates with artists such as Maximilian Hornung and Nils Mönkemeyer. As a passionate interpreter of contemporary music, Gilman has premiered numerous world premieres and worked closely with composers such as Benedikt Schiefer and Konstantia Gourzi. In addition to his concert activities, he is a professor at the Royal College of Music London and artistic director of the LGT Young Soloists. He also teaches at the Kalaidos University of Music Zurich and gives masterclasses worldwide. Numerous prizes at international competitions in Europe and the USA characterize his career. His recording with the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra was honoured with the prestigious Diapason d’Or award.
