In melancholy self-reflection, Benjamin Appl and Simon Lepper set out on one of the most famous forays in vocal music: »Die Winterreise« by Franz Schubert. For many music lovers, Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau's strongly articulated and emotional interpretation is considered a prime example. As the last pupil of this song legend, Appl has proven himself to be a worthy successor. He has long since inspired audiences with his very own art of interpretation and acts as an ambassador for the art song. His warm baritone timbre becomes a soothing travelling companion.
