The financing of the Ludwigsburg Festival is secured on the basis of institutional funding from the city, state and municipalities with substantial grants. Thanks to our regional partners such as the district of Ludwigsburg, the cities and municipalities of Bietigheim-Bissingen, Haigerloch, Tamm, Wertheim and Wolfegg, the Ludwigsburg Festival has an impact far beyond the borders of the city and are a festival for the state of Baden-Württemberg.

The Ludwigsburg Festival receives further financial support from private sources, including foundations, the Board of Trustees and the Freundeskreis. Numerous partnerships with companies – which have existed for many years – form a supporting pillar and are the basis of the private commitment.

Starting in 2021, the federal government will support the Ludwigsburg Festival for three years with a one-time grant from funds provided by the Minister of State for Culture and Media to promote a programmatic realignment of the festival and its exemplary commitment to the arts, democracy, and sustainability.

The friends of the Ludwigsburg Festival do exist for over 20 years. The members support the »Baden-Württemberg International Festival« and the mission of mixing diverse cultural and artistic positions.

The friends support securing and realising the extraordinary and groundbreaking program through their ideological and financial commitment. They contribute to the very popular »Frei Luft Musik« concert series every Friday from May to July on the market square – free of charge for all visitors. Their great financial backing helped us realise our festival centre's flexible seating last year. In the centre of the Residence Palace, festival guests could enjoy the performances transmitted or given in the open air. Another significant engagement of our Friends consists in providing young people access to art and music.

The arts impact convinces the friends to commit to the Ludwigsburg Festival and its program. Members enjoy a unique proximity to the Festival, receive preferential treatment when purchasing tickets, receive personal presentations of the program and meet members of the Festival. As ambassadors and multipliers, the Friends share their enthusiasm for the arts, people and encounters.
