After two musical bike tours, the journey of Les Forces Majeures is not over yet: The French chamber orchestra will get off their bikes and onto the stage to conclude their visit to our region with a concert in Bietigheim. The musicians also dramaturgically continue the themes of travelling and transportation with a selection of suitable works by mostly French composers. With Poulenc, we travel by train and on foot; with Haydn, Debussy, and Ravel, we continue by ship; Schumann whisks us away into the forest; and Josef Strauss invites us dancing with a bicycle polka. Whether on foot, at sea, or on wheels: Les Forces Majeures is always on the move, inspiring a sense of mobilization and departure—literally and figuratively.
